A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to non-existent email addresses under the exact same domain. For example, an email sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can receive emails from friends or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be received in a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you’ve got a cloud hosting service with us and you would like to enable the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it will take literally just one click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have created under any domain registered in your account. You can choose one address per domain name by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature right away, so all emails sent to mistyped addresses will be received there. Clicking the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will display a warning note and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature until you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all option can be activated without any effort if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be displayed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will notice a small-size symbol handily situated directly next to each one. With only one click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this feature through the context menu that will come into view. If any of the preconditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will notify you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
